DESIGNING A DIGITAL SANCTUARY.
At Unity In Christ, we are building a mobile-first super app that prioritises peace, connection, and clarity over distraction. As our UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating the visual language of a global movement. You will design intuitive interfaces for the 2.6 billion+ believers who will use this platform for everything from global prayer networks to live-streaming church services. Your goal is to create a seamless, non-algorithmic user journey that reflects the dignity and unity of the Body of Christ.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

MOBILE-FIRST DESIGN: Lead the UI/UX design for our cross-platform mobile app, ensuring a consistent and premium experience across iOS and Android.

USER JOURNEY MAPPING: Develop wireframes and prototypes for core features including church profiles, secure messaging, prayer walls, and resource hubs.

NON-ALGORITHMIC INTERFACE: Design a discovery experience that empowers users to find content and community based on intent and spiritual need, rather than engagement-driven algorithms.

CHURCH BRANDING TOOLS: Create customisable UI components that allow individual churches to maintain their unique identity while remaining part of the global Unity In Christ ecosystem.

COLLABORATIVE PROTOTYPING: Work closely with the CTO and Senior Developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and high-performing.

ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSIVITY: Ensure the platform is accessible to believers of all ages and technical abilities, across diverse global contexts.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio of launched mobile applications (ideally in the social, streaming, or community space).

DESIGN TOOLS: Mastery of Figma, Adobe XD, or similar prototyping tools.

PHILOSOPHY: A deep understanding of “Calm Technology” and a passion for building interfaces that respect user privacy and attention.

FAITH ALIGNMENT: A personal commitment to Christian values and a desire to translate spiritual unity into a beautiful, functional digital experience.

RESEARCH SKILLS: Ability to conduct user testing within church environments to gather feedback for the South Africa pilot.
