Unity In Christ is built on trust. As our Trust & Safety Officer, you are responsible for defining and upholding the community standards that keep our platform a digital sanctuary. You will develop the policies and oversight mechanisms that protect the Body of Christ from misinformation, harassment, and security threats, ensuring that every interaction on the platform reflects the integrity and love of Christ.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

POLICY DEVELOPMENT: Draft and maintain community guidelines that align with Christian values while ensuring a safe, respectful environment for all denominations.

CONTENT MODERATION STRATEGY: Design and oversee the systems for monitoring prayer walls, testimonies, and shared resources, ensuring content remains faith-aligned and constructive.

ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEMS: Implement robust reporting and dispute-resolution processes to handle community grievances with grace and biblical integrity.

DATA PRIVACY OVERSIGHT: Work alongside the CTO to ensure that sensitive user data—particularly prayer requests and private messages—is handled with the highest level of security and stewardship.

RISK ASSESSMENT: Proactively identify potential vulnerabilities or secular biases within the platform’s social features and develop mitigation strategies.

STAKEHOLDER ADVOCACY: Act as the primary liaison between the community and the technical team to ensure user safety remains a core pillar of product development.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in trust and safety, content moderation, or community legal oversight, ideally within a social platform or large-scale non-profit.

ETHICAL JUDGEMENT: Exceptional discernment and the ability to apply complex community standards consistently and fairly.

FAITH ALIGNMENT: A profound commitment to the mission of Unity In Christ and a heart for protecting the vulnerability of the global Church.

TECHNICAL FAMILIARITY: A solid understanding of how moderation tools, reporting systems, and data privacy laws (such as POPIA and GDPR) function.

COMMUNICATION: Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to communicate policy decisions with empathy and clarity.
