As the Project Manager and Product Owner, you are the guardian of the Unity In Christ roadmap. You will work at the intersection of faith, design, and technology to ensure our development team builds features that truly serve the Body of Christ. Your goal is to manage the daily complexity of building a global super app while maintaining a laser focus on our 2026 South Africa pilot and subsequent Phase 2 rollout.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

ROADMAP MANAGEMENT: Own and execute the product roadmap, prioritising features for the Phase 1 MVP and planning the transition into Phase 2 full features.

SPRINT LEADERSHIP: Facilitate daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions with the development team to ensure milestones are met with precision and technical integrity.

STAKEHOLDER LIAISON: Translate the Executive Director’s vision and church feedback into clear, actionable technical specifications for the CTO and developers.

USER-CENTRIC DESIGN: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure the platform remains intuitive, non-algorithmic, and focused on the needs of diverse church communities.

QUALITY ASSURANCE: Work with the QA team to ensure every release meets our high standards for security, privacy, and performance.

PILOT COORDINATION: Manage the technical requirements for the 200+ church pilot in South Africa, gathering user feedback to inform future development cycles.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in agile project management or product ownership, preferably within a mobile-first startup or a complex digital platform environment.

TECHNICAL FLUENCY: A strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the ability to speak the language of both developers and ministry leaders.

FAITH ALIGNMENT: A personal commitment to the mission of Christian unity and a stewardship-focused approach to product development.

CERTIFICATIONS: Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or PMP certification is highly advantageous.

ORGANISATION: Exceptional time-management skills with a proven track record of delivering multi-phase projects on schedule.
