THE MISSION Unity In Christ is built on a foundation of trust. As our Compliance & Data Privacy Officer, you will ensure that our platform and our Cape Town office operate with the highest legal and ethical standards. You will protect the sanctity of user data, ensuring that every prayer request and personal detail is handled with the stewardship it deserves, staying fully compliant with POPIA and international privacy laws.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIVACY GOVERNANCE: Develop and enforce data privacy policies that align with POPIA (South Africa) and GDPR (Global) standards.

AUDIT & OVERSIGHT: Conduct regular audits of our secure development environment to ensure technical and physical data handling remains impenetrable.

LEGAL LIAISON: Manage legal contracts for partnerships with the 200+ pilot churches and vendor agreements.

RISK MITIGATION: Identify potential compliance risks in the MVP features and provide actionable solutions to the CTO and Executive Director.
REQUIREMENTS
-
5+ YEARS IN LEGAL COMPLIANCE, DATA PRIVACY, OR CORPORATE GOVERNANCE.

DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF POPIA AND INTERNATIONAL DATA PROTECTION ACTS.

EXPERIENCE IN THE TECH OR NON-PROFIT SECTOR IS HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS.

A HEART FOR ETHICAL STEWARDSHIP AND PROTECTING VULNERABLE DATA.
